Experienced Immigration Lawyer

The Law Offices of Amelia L. Ramer near Washington, D.C. in Reston, Virginia, provides experienced immigration and naturalization law services. With practice experience in large and small firms and the flexibility of a solo practice, I offer knowledgeable counsel with immigration law for business clients, as well as individuals.

Nationwide Representation for Immigration Matters

I serve immigration and naturalization clients throughout the Northern Virginia area, Washington, D.C. and Maryland. However, because of the nature of immigration law, my clients are located throughout the U.S. and overseas.

I focus on handling a comprehensive range of immigration matters, including applications with the United States Department Labor and the United States Citizenship and Immigration Service (USCIS). This agency was formerly known as the Immigration and Naturalization Service (INS) or the Bureau of Citizenship and Immigration Service (BCIS). The matters that are handled in conjunction with this government agency include:

I assist companies and individuals obtaining nonimmigrant visas in the B, C, D, E, F, H, I, J, K, L, M, O, P, Q, R, TN, categories. I also handle all aspects of obtaining green cards through extraordinary ability, national interest waivers and PERM (employment-based) permanent residence applications and family-based applications. I have successfully represented many clients in their asylum applications and in removal proceedings (deportation) before the U.S. Immigration Courts and the Board of Immigration Appeals. I also assist clients with their immigrant and nonimmigrant visas through consular processing.

Immigration law is very complex, with dozens of categories, hundreds of statues and thousands of pages of regulations. It is also very technical in its filing requirements; failure to include a document or filling out a form incorrectly may set your application back months or even years.

You need an experienced guide to successfully navigate the maze of laws, rules and procedures. My many referrals are a result of the success of my work for clients. I evaluate each case, carefully choosing the application with the greatest likelihood of being approved. Contact me to request an in-depth initial consultation for a reasonable fee.
